Boys’ basketball: Stanley Johnson picks Arizona

On ESPNU’s recruiting special on Friday afternoon, Stanley Johnson of Santa Ana Mater Dei confirmed that he will attend Arizona in the fall.
The 6-foot-7 Johnson, last season’s player of the year by The Times, held up a pair of Arizona shoes to let viewers know his school of choice.
Arizona continues to pull away top players from Southern California. Loyola point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright is also expected to sign with the Wildcats.
